Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has passed a unanimous resolution asking Centre to conduct an inquiry into allegations levelled by ex-Army chief General VK Singh. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Singh's allegation that money was paid to state politicians by the Army cannot be ignored.
VK Singh had made the revealtion after a newspaper report alleged that a secret Army unit set up by him misused Army funds to try and topple the state government. Abdullah said Singh must reveal the details of those who were paid money. He said he had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 25 demanding a detailed probe Omar Abdullah said, "If money was given, then he must mention who was it given to & why? We don't want to be suspected I request the government of India not to dismiss these allegations. We will wait for the truth."
