But still a lot can be done without using the animation. A user interface is necessary to see the effects of transition. The all measure browser support the CSS3 Transition Effects.

Although CSS3 Transition Effect is sufficient for transition of an element, but a text-transform property can enhance the style of CSS3 Transition Effects.

Their are mainly four properties of CSS3 Transition Effects, which has been described as follows:

Iran Parades 30 Missiles With Range of 2,000km

TEHRAN — Iran paraded 30 missiles with a nominal range of 2,000 kilometers (1,250 miles) Sunday, the first time it had displayed so many with the theoretical capacity to hit Israeli targets.

Iran displayed 12 Sejil and 18 Ghadr missiles at the annual parade marking the anniversary of the outbreak of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

The stated range of both missiles would put not only Israel but also US bases in the Gulf within reach.

But in his speech at the parade, President Hassan Rowhani insisted the weaponry on show was for defensive purposes only.

“In the past 200 years, Iran has never attacked another country,” he said.

“Today too, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic and its leadership will never launch any aggressive action in the region.

“But they will always resist aggressors determinedly until victory.”

The Sejil was first tested in November 2008 and the Ghadr in September of the following year.

Both are two-stage missiles that use solid fuel that allows them to be moved around and launched rapidly.

The naval chief of the elite Revolutionary Guards was meanwhile quoted as saying that Iran has the capability to strike US warships in the Gulf.

“We have the necessary equipment to destroy American aircraft carries and warplanes in the Gulf,” the ISNA news agency quoted Admiral Ali Fadavi as saying.

Bahrain, a strategic archipelago just across the Gulf from Iran, is the home base of the US Fifth Fleet.

The elite Revolutionary Guards is in charge of protecting the strategic Strait of Hormuz, at the entrance to the Gulf, a key gateway for the world’s oil supplies.

Over the past year, the United States has gradually strengthened its naval forces in the Gulf region, particularly after Iran at one point threatened to block the strait.

Quick way to enable/disable Javascript in Google Chrome using extension

Quick Javascript Switcher is a Chrome extension that enable / disable JavaScript on the fly by hostname, and subdomain.
(unlike to Chris Pederick's "Web Developer" extension who globally disables javascript)

To disable javascript permanently, open the right click contextual menu, and there is a shortcut to open the Chrome JavaScript Panel.

Prince Harry spends night in giant freezer for south pole trek

Royal subjected to -35C temperatures in preparation for trip to Antarctica to compete in south pole charity challenge

Prince Harry has spent the night in a giant freezer in preparation for an expedition to the south pole this November.
The 29-year-old and four teammates spent the night in the artificial Antarctic environment, which is used to test and prepare military vehicles, before his trek for the Walking with the Wounded charity, in which he will race with a team of injured British servicemen and women against competitors from the US and the Commonwealth.

The group experienced wind speeds of 45mph and temperatures of -35C (-31F). Temperatures inside the chamber in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, owned by the automotive consultancy MIRA, fell as low as -55C with wind chill.

The team concluded their training with tea and biscuits. Asked what the worst part had been, Harry, who is a patron of the charity, said: "Going in."

Harry's team includes 36-year-old Captain Ibrar Ali, who lost his right arm in 2007 after a roadside bomb explosion, and Major Kate Philp, 35, who had her left leg amputated after her armoured military vehicle hit an explosive in Helmand province, Afghanistan, in 2008.
Speaking about the prince, Philp said: "He knows what he's doing. He's got his military training  … so he's a good extra pair of hands."
She added: "It's great having Harry along, and hopefully he appreciates it too. It's a chance not just for him to experience all the practical stuff that we've just done as well, but for us to get together as a team and start to get to know each other better.
"It seemed very easy from the beginning, but it's certainly even more comfortable the more time we spend together."
During their stay at the facility, Harry and the Virgin Money South Pole Allied Challenge British team slept in large tents, cooked food and wore the clothing they will use during the expedition in late November. The team exercised using bikes and cross-trainers, and also practised climate adaptation techniques including frostnip and frostbite prevention.
The expedition is expected to take about 15 days, with participants aiming to travel 200 miles at a rate of between nine and 12 miles each day. The actors Dominic West and Alexander Skarsgard are also scheduled to take part in the challenge, with West accompanying the Commonwealth team and Skarsgard travelling with the US group.
Harry has previously been thwarted in attempts to take part in similar charity expeditions. He began a five-day Walking with the Wounded expedition to the north pole in 2011 but withdrew from the trek early in order to attend the wedding of his brother William. Last year, his military commitments prevented him from climbing Mount Everest on behalf of the charity.

Kenya Presses Assault Against Militants in Mall Siege

NAIROBI, Kenya — Seeking to end a siege that has left scores dead and shaken the nation, the Kenyan government said Sunday night that it was pressing an assault against Shabab militant attackers who had been holed up in a Nairobi shopping mall for more than a day.

Late Sunday, the Kenyan military announced that it had retaken “most” of the Westgate mall — the attackers had been confined to the third floor since their initial assault on Saturday — and freed more hostages, though details could not be confirmed. Helicopters circled the mall building through the night, and occasional explosions and bursts of gunfire were heard above a rainstorm in the area.

“Most areas of the building are now in the control of K.D.F.,” said Col. Cyrus Oguna, referring to the Kenya Defense Forces. He told the television station KTN that most of the hostages taken by the militants had been rescued. “We know the number cannot be more than 10 right now.”

The Shabab, a militant group mostly based in neighboring Somalia, answered with Twitter messages of their own, including warning that “Kenyan forces who’ve just attempted a roof landing must know that they are jeopardizing the lives of all the hostages at #Westgate.”

Later, officials said that at least four members of the security forces had been wounded. But there were no other details about additional casualties on either side.

The attack on the mall deeply distressed Kenya, a nation that has grown in stature as a force against terrorism in East Africa. As the toll mounted — at least 68 were reported dead by late Sunday, with several people still unaccounted for — the potential for even greater loss of life seemed tangible.

Addressing the nation, President Uhuru Kenyatta sounded a note of solidarity in loss, revealing that his nephew and the man’s fiancée were among the dead. “These are young, lovely people I personally knew and loved,” Mr. Kenyatta said. “Many of us have lost loved ones. Let us mourn them all as one nation and keep them always in remembrance and prayer.”

He said security forces had rescued more than 1,000 people from the mall since the violence began on Saturday, calling the forces’ performance “remarkable and encouraging,” even as he asked for patience from the public as the standoff continued.

The assault on Westgate was the deadliest terrorist attack in Kenya since the 1998 Qaeda truck bombing of the American Embassy in Nairobi that killed more than 200 people.

President Obama called Mr. Kenyatta on Sunday to reaffirm the “strong and historic partnership between the United States and Kenya.” That relationship has been strained by the election in March of Mr. Kenyatta, who is being prosecuted at the International Criminal Court on charges of financing death squads during an outbreak of political violence in 2007. Mr. Obama skipped visiting Kenya, his father’s birthplace, on his trip to Africa in late June.

The Shabab have said that they staged the mall attack as retribution for the Kenyan military presence in Somalia, where Kenyan troops have driven Shabab fighters out of much of the territory they once controlled. A confidential United Nations security report described the assault on the mall as two-pronged, with groups of gunmen attacking on different floors simultaneously.

Joseph Ole Lenku, the cabinet secretary for the interior, said Sunday afternoon that from 10 to 15 attackers were inside the mall. Mr. Kenyatta said he could neither confirm nor deny reports that one or more of the attackers were women. The Shabab claimed in a Twitter post that several of the attackers were Americans; a senior law enforcement official in the United States said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had yet to establish whether that claim was true, and that it would be difficult to do so until all the attackers were captured or killed.

The number of bystanders remaining in the building was not as clear, though the Kenya Red Cross, citing the police as its source, said Sunday that 49 people were unaccounted for, raising the prospect of a significantly higher death toll before the crisis ends.

The American official said that the F.B.I. had offered assistance to the Kenyan authorities and that F.B.I. agents were at the Kenyan command post at the scene. There were reports that Israelis were supporting the Kenyan authorities as well; a spokeswoman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry said she could not comment. The secretary general of Interpol, Ronald K. Noble, said in a statement that his agency had offered to send a response team, including forensic and counterterrorism experts.

Mr. Kenyatta said that he had received “numerous offers of assistance from friendly countries; for the time being, however, this remains an operation of the Kenyan security agencies.”

Among those killed in the mall were three Britons, the British Foreign Office confirmed Sunday. Five Americans were among the wounded, but none were known to have been killed. News agencies reported that other foreigners were also among the dead.

As the identities of victims began to emerge on Sunday, the public mourning of a national tragedy began.

One of those killed was Ruhila Adatia-Sood, a popular Kenyan radio host who was in the parking lot of the mall hosting a cooking competition, according to reports. She posted several photos on her Instagram account before the attack.

Also among the dead was Kofi Awoonor, 78, a Ghanaian poet and former professor at the University of Ghana.

Hundreds of relatives and friends of people who were in the mall went to hospitals around the city that were treating the wounded, trying to ascertain the fate of their loved ones.

At the M P Shah Hospital a few miles away from the mall, distressed relatives milled around a tent erected for them outside the building, as volunteers worked to assist them.

Ruth Nyambura, 26, whose uncle worked at the Nakumatt Supermarket in Westgate at the time of the attack, said she was terrified.

“I have come along with my family just to find out how he’s doing,” Ms. Nyambura said. “He was shot in the head, suffered severe wounds on his one of his eyes and his arms. He was operated on yesterday, and we’ve come to see him again. We are being told to wait because the queue is too long.”

Kenya’s political class, often starkly divided, has demonstrated unity since the attack. Raila Odinga, a former prime minister and a political opponent of Mr. Kenyatta, joined him in an appearance at the State House on Sunday.

“This is a trying moment for our country,” Mr. Odinga said. “It is something that has hit at the very heart of our country’s unity. Our people must come together at times like this to help each other.”In his address on Sunday, Mr. Kenyatta, too, appealed for unity. “We have ashamed and defeated our attackers,” he said. “Let us continue to wage a relentless moral war as our forces conduct a physical battle. We shall triumph.”

100 airports to connect small cities by 2020, Manmohan Singh says

KISHANGARH (Ajmer): Small destinations in the country will have air connectivity with a network of more than 100 airports planned to meet the expected passenger load capacity of 30 crore by 2020, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said.

The first such airport will come up in Kishangarh town in Rajasthan's Ajmer district, he said after laying the foundation stone for the development of the airport which is scheduled to get operational by 2016

"An ambitious scheme to develop a network of 100 smaller airports in the country is being implemented. Focus earlier was on developing airports in metro cities and now more than 100 airports will be set up in small towns and cities," Singh said.

"This will enhance air connectivity in the country. Kishangarh airport will be the first project under this scheme," he said, adding that it will also meet requirement of increasing passenger load which is expected to be around 30 crores by 2020.

The prime minister said the Kishangarh airport, to be set up at an estimated cost of 161 crore in first phase, will accelerate economic activities and growth in the area.

"Ajmer is a noted tourist destination having famous dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and Brahma temple in Pushkar town. Besides, the region is known for industries including that of marble and the new project of airport will push economic growth," he said.

Singh said that passenger load has increased significantly and the trend would continue.

"The number of air passengers was 16 crore last year and it is estimated to be increased by 30 crore by the end of 2020.We will have to put more efforts to meet the requirement and both the government and private sectors need to make heavy investment for this," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, civil aviation minister Ajit Singh highlighted the importance of air connectivity in smaller destinations and said that his ministry was now working in this direction.

"There are small airports in several cities but lack services. We now plan to start services at such airports in order to enhance connectivity," the minister said.

Kishangarh town, famous for marble industry, is located on NH-8 near Ajmer city.

The civil airport, to be set by AAI, in the town will have 2000 meter long runway and a capacity to handle 150 passengers.

Terminal building has been planned on modular concept with modern facilities. There will be 6 check-in counters, one security check unit and parking capacity for 125 cars.

Chief ministers Ashok Gehlot, Union MoS for corporate affairs Sachin Pilot were also present on the occasion.

Flat gutted in Kilpauk fire, Chennai

Firefighters battle the flames that spread from the fifth floor up to the sixth and seventh floors of the apartment complex. Photo: Petlee PeterA major fire broke out in a 10-storey apartment complex on Ormes Road, Kilpauk on Sunday morning. It took nearly an hour-and-a-half for fire fighters to put out the blaze, suspected to have been caused by an electrical short-circuit in an apartment that was gutted.
Over 30 families were evacuated to safety, thanks to a timely alert by some residents. The complex, named Prince Apartments, has 36 flats and around 200 residents live there.
Around 1.40 p.m., white smoke started billowing out of a fifth floor apartment belonging to Ashok Kumar Lahotiya. After inspection of the flat, firemen said that live electrical equipment could have caused the accident. The fire broke out when the Lohatiyas had left for lunch.
B.J. Dhanaraj (83), who lives in an independent house adjacent to the apartment complex, said that he smelled smoke before he saw the blaze. “I peeped out of my room and saw thick white smoke coming out of the fifth floor flat and an AC machine on a window was in flames. I shouted out to my son-in-law John who immediately called the fire control room,” he said.
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) sources said the fire alert call on the accident was received at 1.56 p.m. and firemen with seven fire tenders from Kilpauk, Vepery, Egmore, Triplicane, Esplanade and Vyasarpadi fire stations were rushed to the spot.
Meanwhile, the fire spread from the fifth floor flat to apartments on the two floors above and thick black smoke emerged. Electronic equipment burnt with load noise and a burning window AC attacked to the fifth floor came crashing to the ground.
Some firemen climbed atop the water tank of Dhanaraj’s house and sprayed water into the raging blaze while the rest took positions on the apartment complex. Another fire tender mounted with a 150 feet skylift was rushed to the spot from the Kilpauk fire station. Residents had to frantically push cars in the apartment complex to make way for the tender.
The firemen managed to extinguish the blaze following a battle that lasted till 3.30 p.m. No one was injured as the residents got out of the building within minutes of the fire beginning. The fifth floor flat was completely damaged in the fire, while the sixth and the seventh floors were partially burnt.
The loss suffered is yet to be ascertained, TNFRS sources added.
