விழாவுக்கு நான் போயிருக்கவே கூடாது! - ரஜினி வருத்தம்

இந்திய சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழாவுக்கு நான் போயிருக்கவே கூடாது. பிலிம்சேம்பர் அழைப்பை நம்பி போனது தவறாகிவிட்டது, என சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி வருத்தப்பட்டதாக செய்தி வெளியாகியுள்ளது.

நான்கு நாட்கள் நடந்த இந்திய சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழா கிளப்பியுள்ள சர்ச்சைகள், கசப்புணர்வுகள், அடுத்த ஆட்சி மாற்றம் நிகழும் வரை நீடிக்கும் போலிருக்கிறது. 

குறிப்பாக சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி, கமல், இளையராஜா போன்றவர்களை அழைத்து அவமானப்படுத்தியதும், கருணாநிதி, ரஹ்மான் போன்றவர்களை அழைக்காமல் அவமதித்ததும் தமிழ் சினிமா உலகம் மற்றும் ரசிகர்களிடையே பெரும் அதிருப்தியை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. ரஜினியை கடைசி வரிசையில் கடைசி நாற்காலியில் உட்கார வைத்தது குறித்து திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதி பெரும் வருத்தமும் கண்டனமும் தெரிவித்திருந்தார். 

இந்த விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டபோது ஏற்பட்ட அவமரியாதை குறித்து, தனது நெருங்கிய நண்பர்கள் சிலரிடம், 'விழாவிற்கு நான் சென்றிருக்கக் கூடாது. ஃபிலிம் சேம்பர் அழைத்ததே என்பதற்காகத்தான் போயிருந்தேன். அது தவறாகிவிட்டது. ரொம்ப ரொம்ப அவமானப்படுத்தி விட்டார்கள். ஒவ்வொரு கலைஞனும் இந்த விழாவில் அவமானப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறான்', என்று தனது மனக்குமுறல்களை வெளிப்படுத்தியதாக செய்தி வெளியாகியுள்ளது. மற்ற கலைஞர்கள் தங்கள் வேதனையைக் கூட வெளிப்படுத்த முடியாத சங்கடத்தில் உள்ளனர்.

ரஜினி, கமல், இளையராஜாவை அழைத்து அவமதித்தது அநாகரீகச் செயல் - கருணாநிதி கண்டனம்

சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழாவில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்த், கமல்ஹாஸன், இளையராஜா, மகேந்திரன் போன்ற மூத்த சாதனைக் கலைஞர்களை வரவழைத்து அவமதித்தது அநாகரீகச் செயல் என்று கருணாநிதி கண்டனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். 

இதுகுறித்து திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதி வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில், "தமிழ்நாடு அரசும், தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட வர்த்தக சபையும் இணைந்து இந்திய சினிமாவின் நூற்றாண்டு நிறைவு விழாவினை நான்கு நாட்கள் நடத்தி முடித்திருக்கிறார்கள். 24-ம் தேதி நடைபெற்ற நிறைவு விழாவில் இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி கலந்து கொண்டு, கடந்த நூறாண்டு காலத்தில் இந்திய சினிமாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்காகப் பெரிய பங்காற்றிய முதல் சாதனையாளர் ஜெயலலிதாவிற்கு முதல் விருதினை வழங்கி அவரைப் பெரிதும் பாராட்டியதோடு, மற்றவர்களுக்கும் விருதுகளை வழங்கி விட்டுச் சென்றிருக்கிறார். 

நான்கு நாட்கள் நடைபெற்ற இந்த விழாவில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்த், கமல்ஹாசன், இளையராஜா, லட்சிய நடிகர் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். போன்ற மூத்த கலைஞர்களுக்கு முன் வரிசையிலே இடம் ஒதுக்கப்பட வில்லை என்பது மாத்திரமல்ல, அவர்கள் முன் வரிசையில் சென்று அமர்ந்த பிறகு, அவர்களை இருந்த இடத்திலிருந்து எழுப்பி பின் வரிசையில் அமரச் செய்தது, ஒட்டுமொத்த கலைஞர்களையும் அவமானப்படுத்திய அநாகரிகச் செயலாகும்.

நல்லவேளை, நம்மை அழைக்கவில்லை! - கருணாநிதி

நல்லவேளை சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழாவுக்கு என்னை அழைக்காமல் விட்டார்களே, என்று கமெண்ட் அடித்துள்ளார் திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதி. சென்னையில் நடந்த சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழா கசப்பான உணர்வலைகளை தோற்றுவித்துள்ளது.

ஜெயலலிதாவின் முழு தலையீட்டில் நடந்த இந்த விழாவுக்கு திமுக தலைவரும் தமிழ் சினிமாவின் மூத்த எழுத்தாளருமான கருணாநிதிக்கு அழைப்பு அழைப்பாமல் அவமதித்தனர். இதுகுறித்து கருத்து தெரிவித்துள்ள கருணாநிதி, "இந்த விழாவிற்கு என்னை அழைக்கவில்லை என்பது பற்றி வார இதழ்கள் எல்லாம் எழுதியதோடு, அங்கே நடைபெற்ற சில சம்பவங்களையெல்லாம் எழுதியிருப்பதைப் பார்க்கும் போது அவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் என்ன நேரிடுமோ என்ற கவலைதான் எனக்கு ஏற்படுகிறது. 

ஆனால் அங்கே அழைக்கப்பட்ட சில பெரிய கலைஞர்கள் நடத்தப்பட்ட விதத்தை இந்த ஏடுகளின் மூலம் படிக்கும் போது, "நல்லவேளை நம்மை அழைக்காமல் விட்டார்களே; நம் "தன்மானம்" காப்பாற்றப்பட்டதே" என்றுதான் நான் எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அழைக்காமல் பலரையும், அழைத்துப் பலரையும் "பெருமைப்படுத்தி"(?) இருப்பதே இந்திய சினிமாவின் நூற்றாண்டு விழா! இந்த விழா தொடர்பாக என்னைப் பற்றிப் பலரும் குறிப்பிட்டுப் பல்வேறு ஏடுகளில் எழுதியிருக்கிறார்கள். 

செய்தியாளர்கள் பலரும் என்னைச் சந்தித்தபோது அதைப்பற்றி என்னிடம் கேட்டார்கள். ஒரு மூத்த வார இதழின் செய்தியாளர் ஒருவர், தொலை பேசியில் தொடர்பு கொண்டு, "இவ்வளவு தவறுகள் நடைபெற்றிருக்கின்றன, அதைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் ஏன் எதுவும் சொல்லமாட்டேன் என்கிறீர்கள்" என்றெல்லாம் கேட்டார். அவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் நான் என்னுடைய நன்றியினைத் தெரிவிக்கக் கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்," என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.

ஒரு விழாவை எப்படி நடத்தக்கூடாது என்பதற்கு இந்திய சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழா ஒரு உதாரணம் என்று திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதி கூறியுள்ளார். இது தொடர்பாக அவர் எழுதியுள்ள கடிதம்: ஒரு விழாவினை எப்படி நடத்த வேண்டும் என்பதற்குப் பதிலாக, எப்படி நடத்தக் கூடாது என்பதற்கு உதாரணமாக நடந்த சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழா பற்றி சில கருத்துகளைக் கூறுகிறேன்.

இந்தக் கடிதம் என் ஆதங்கத்தின் விளைவு அல்ல! சினிமாத் துறையிலே உள்ள கலைஞர்கள் பலரின் உள்ளத்தைப் பிரதிபலிக்கின்ற வகையிலே எழுந்த கோபம், தாபம் இவற்றோடு - அதிலும் குறிப்பாகவும், அதிசயமாகவும் தமிழ் ஏடுகள் சில வெளியிட்டுள்ள கருத்துக்களையும் இணைத்துத் தருவதே இந்தக் கடிதம். முதல் சாதனையாளர் ஜெ! தமிழ்நாடு அரசும், தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட வர்த்தக சபையும் இணைந்து இந்திய சினிமாவின் நூற்றாண்டு நிறைவு விழாவினை நான்கு நாட்கள் நடத்தி முடித்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

24ஆம் தேதி நடைபெற்ற நிறைவு விழாவில் இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி கலந்து கொண்டு, கடந்த நூறாண்டு காலத்தில் இந்திய சினிமாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்காகப் பெரிய பங்காற்றிய "முதல் சாதனையாளர்" ஜெயலலிதாவிற்கு முதல் விருதினை வழங்கி அவரைப் பெரிதும் பாராட்டியதோடு, மற்றவர்களுக்கும் விருதுகளை வழங்கி விட்டுச் சென்றிருக்கிறார். செய்தியாளர்கள் கேள்வி இந்த விழா தொடர்பாக என்னைப் பற்றிப் பலரும் குறிப்பிட்டுப் பல்வேறு ஏடுகளில் எழுதி யிருக்கிறார்கள்.

செய்தியாளர்கள் பலரும் என்னைச் சந்தித்தபோது அதைப்பற்றி என்னிடம் கேட்டார்கள். ஒரு மூத்த வார இதழின் செய்தியாளர் ஒருவர், தொலை பேசியில் தொடர்பு கொண்டு, "இவ்வளவு தவறுகள் நடைபெற்றிருக்கின்றன, அதைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் ஏன் எதுவும் சொல்லமாட்டேன் என்கிறீர்கள்" என்றெல்லாம் கேட்டார். அவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் நான் என்னுடைய நன்றி யினைத் தெரிவிக்கக் கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன். குற்றம்சாட்ட அல்ல.. இந்த சினிமா விழாவினைப் பற்றி நான் எதுவும் பேச விரும்பவில்லை என்றாலும், என்னுடைய கருத்தை எழுத வேண்டுமென்று பலரும் பெரிதும் வலியுறுத்தியதின் பேரில், நான் படித்த, கேள்விப்பட்ட செய்திகளை மட்டும் தொகுத்து வெளியிடுகின்றேன். இது யாரையும் குற்றஞ்சாட்டுவதற்காகவோ, தவறு காண்பதற் காகவோ அல்ல.

அரசின் சார்பில், ஓர் அமைப்பின் சார்பில் பொதுமக்களின் வரிப் பணத்திலிருந்து அரசு தரும் நிதி உதவி யோடு இதுபோன்ற விழாக்களை நடத்தும்போது, மற்றவர்கள் குற்றம் சொல்வதற்குச் சிறிதும் வாய்ப்பளிக்காத வகையில் பார்த்துக் கொள்வது மிகவும் அவசியமான ஒன்றாகும். கர்நாடக அதிருப்தி ஏனென்றால் கர்நாடக கலாச்சாரத் துறை அமைச்சர், இந்த விழாவிற்கு கர்நாடகாவில் இருந்து தமிழ் நாட்டுக்கு வந்த திரைத் துறை கலைஞர்கள் இடவசதி, போக்குவரத்து வசதி உரிய அனுமதி கிடைக்காமல் அலைக்கழிக்கப்பட்டனர் என்றும், அதற்கு தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் பொறுப்பேற்று மன்னிப்புக் கேட்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்திருப்பதாக ஏடுகளிலும் ஊடகங்களிலும் செய்தி வந்துள்ளது. யார் தலைமை? குறிப்பாக 24ஆம் தேதி நடைபெற்ற நிறைவு விழாவிற்குத் தலைமை ஏற்றவர் யார்? அரசு சார்பிலோ, தனியார் சார்பிலோ இதுபோல விழாக்கள் நடத்தப்படுமேயானால் அதற்கு ஒருவர் தலைமை தாங்குவதுதான் நீண்ட நெடுங்காலமாகக் கடைப்பிடிக்கப் பட்டு வரும் மரபு.

ஆனால் இந்த விழாவிற்கான முழுப் பக்க விளம்பரங்களில் "தலைமை ஏற்போர்" என்று குறிப்பிட்டு, தமிழக ஆளுநர் முனைவர் கே. ரோசய்யா, தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் செல்வி ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா, கேரள முதலமைச்சர் உம்மன் சாண்டி ஆகியோர் பெயர்கள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருந்தன. இதுதான் ப்ரோட்டாகால்! எனவே இந்த விழா விற்கு மூன்று பேர் தலைமை வகித்துள்ளார்கள். குடியரசுத் தலைவர், ஆளுநர், முதலமைச்சர்கள் ஆகியோர் இதுபோன்ற விழாவிலே கலந்து கொள்கிறார்கள் என்றால், தலைமை விருந்தினராக குடியரசுத் தலைவரும், நிகழ்ச்சிக்குத் தலைவராக ஆளுநரும், முன்னிலை வகிப்பவர்களாக முதலமைச்சர்கள் பெயரும் வெளியிடு வதுதான் "ப்ரோட்டாகால்"படி சரியான நடைமுறை.

ஆனால் இந்த விழாவில் ஆளுநரும், முதலமைச்சர்களும் தலைமை ஏற்போர்களாக வெளியிடுவதற்கு என்ன காரணம் என்பதை நீங்களே புரிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்! ஒரு விழாவிற்கு எத்தனை தலைவர்கள் என்பதை நிகழ்ச்சியை நடத்தியவர்கள்தான் கூற வேண்டும்! மூத்த கலைஞர்களுக்கு அவமரியாதை மேலும் நான்கு நாட்கள் நடைபெற்ற இந்த விழாவில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்த், கலைஞானி கமல்ஹாசன், இசைஞானி இளையராஜா, இலட்சிய நடிகர் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். போன்ற மூத்த கலைஞர்களுக்கு முன் வரிசையிலே இடம் ஒதுக்கப்படவில்லை என்பது மாத்திரமல்ல, அவர்கள் முன் வரிசையில் சென்று அமர்ந்த பிறகு, அவர்களை இருந்த இடத்தி லிருந்து எழுப்பி பின் வரிசையில் அமரச் செய்தது, ஒட்டுமொத்த கலைஞர்களையும் அவமானப்படுத்திய அநாகரிகச் செயலாகும். அந்தச் சாதனைக் கலைஞர்களுக்கு முதல் வரிசையில் இடம் ஒதுக்காவிட்டால்கூட, அவர்கள் 3 வரும்போதே வரவேற்று, அவர்களுக்கெனத் திட்டமிட்டு ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்ட இடத்தில் அமர வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும். மாறாக அவர்கள் அமர்ந்தவுடன் அங்கிருந்து அகற்றிப் பின் வரிசையில் அமர வைத்தது பண்பாடற்ற செயல் என்றே கூற வேண்டும்.

எந்த அளவு வேதனைப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள்? அதுமாத்திரமல்ல; மூத்த கலைஞர்களுக்கு விருதுகள் வழங்கி, முதல் அமைச்சருடன் புகைப்படம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, அந்தப் புகைப் படத்தை ஏடுகளிலே வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அதில் ரஜினியும், கமலும் இரண்டாவது வரிசையில் எங்கோ நின்று கொண்டிருக்கும் காட்சியையும் கண்டேன். அவர்களுடைய இலட்சக்கணக்கான ரசிகர்கள் அந்தப் புகைப்படங்களைப் பார்த்து எந்த அளவிற்கு வேதனைப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள்? அனிச்ச மலரையொத்தவர்கள்... நான் மறுபடியும் கூறுகிறேன்; ஏதோ குறை சொல்ல வேண்டு மென்பதற்காக இதனைத் தெரிவிக்கவில்லை. முதல் அமைச்சரோ, மற்ற அமைச்சர்களோ இதையெல்லாம் கவனிக்க நேரம் இடந்தராது. நிகழ்ச்சியின் அமைப்பாளர்கள்தான் ஆழ்ந்து ஆலோசித்துக் கவனித்திருக்க வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால் கலைஞர்கள் எப்போதும் மிகவும் சுயமரியாதை உடையவர்களாக, அனிச்ச மலரை ஒத்தவர்களாக இருப்பார்கள். அவர்களின் மனம் வேதனை அடையும்படி - தன்மானம் காயப்படும்படி நடந்து கொள்ளக்கூடாது.

பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கே அழைப்பில்லையே... அடுத்து, இந்த விழாவிற்கான அழைப் பிதழ்கள் ஜனநாயகத்தின் "நான்காவது எஸ்டேட்" என்று பெருமையோடு சொல்லப்படும் பத்திரிகைத் துறையினரில் பெரும்பாலான பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கு அனுப்பப்படவில்லை. தொலைக்காட்சியினர் பலருக்கும் உள்ளே செல்லவே அனுமதி இல்லை. பாவம்; அவர்கள் எல்லாம் இந்த ஆட்சிக்கு அனுசரணையாக எப்படியெல்லாம் செய்திகளை வெளியிடுகிறார்கள்; அதற்காகவாவது அவர்களுக்கு அழைப்பு அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா? வார இதழின் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் "பார்வையாளர்களாக" உள்ளே சென்று, இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி பற்றிய செய்திகளைத் திரட்டி வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். பயனும் பயமும்.. நான் ஏற்கனவே செய்தியாளர்களிடம் தெரிவித்ததைப்போல நாளேடுகள் அ.தி.மு.க. ஆட்சியில், 'பயன்'கருதியும், 'பயம்' கருதியும் சினிமா விழா பற்றிய இப்படிப்பட்ட விவரங்களை வெளியிட முன்வராமல், பொதுமக்கள் கவனத்திலிருந்து மூடி மறைத்து விட்ட போதிலும், சில வார இதழ்கள் 'துணிச்சலாக' கடந்த இரண்டு மூன்று நாட்களாக எழுதி வருகின்றன.

குமுதம் ரிப்போர்ட்டர் செய்தி 'குமுதம் ரிப்போர்ட்டர்' வார இதழில் மூன்று பக்கங்களுக்கு வந்துள்ள செய்தியிலிருந்து சில முக்கிய பகுதிகள்: 'இந்திய சினிமா நூற்றாண்டு விழாவில் விருது பெற்ற நடிகர் ரஜினிகாந்த், முதல்வருடன் குரூப் போட்டோ எடுத்த போது ஒதுங்கிக் கொண்டார். 'தலைவா' படப் பிரச்சினையில் சிக்கிய நடிகர் விஜய், முன்னதாகவே வந்திருந்த போதிலும், பின் 4 வரிசையில் சென்று அமர்ந்து கொண்டார். அவரைத் தொடர்ந்து வந்த எந்த நடிகர் நடிகையும் அவருடன் அமராமல் சில சீட்டுகள் தள்ளி அமர்ந்து கொண்டனர். ரஜினியை எழுப்பிய அதிகாரிகள் நிகழ்ச்சிக்குக் குறிப்பிட்ட பத்திரிகையாளர்கள், போட்டோகிராபர்களை மட்டுமே அனுமதித்தனர்.

நடிகர் ரஜினிகாந்த், அவர் மகள் சௌந்தர்யாவுடன் வந்தார். ரசிகர்கள் கைதட்டி, விசில் அடித்து ஆரவாரம் செய்தனர். ரஜினி மேடைக்குச் சென்று ரசிகர்களைப் பார்த்துக் கையசைத்து வணக்கம் தெரிவித்தவுடன் முன் வரிசையில் அமர்ந்தார். அவரிடம், "புரோட்டோ கால்படி உங்களுக்கு மூன்றாவது வரிசையில் இடம் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது" என்று அரசு அதிகாரிகள் அவரை அங்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர். (இது எந்த வகை "புரோட்டோகால்" என்பதை விழா அமைப்பாளர்கள்தான் விளக்க வேண்டும்!) விழா மேடைக்குக் கீழே, சசிகலா, அமைச்சர்கள் அனைவரும் அமர்ந்திருந்தனர். வழக்கமாக சினிமா விழா என்றாலே முதல்வரின் இருக்கைக்கு இடது மற்றும் வலது புறத்தில் நடிகர்கள் ரஜினி, கமல்தான் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பார்கள். க்ரூப் போட்டோவிலும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் முதல்வர் அருகில் சினிமா தயாரிப்பாளர்களும், 2வது வரிசையில் நடிகைகள் மனோரமா, சரோஜாதேவி, எல்.ஆர். ஈஸ்வரி உட்பட பலரும், மூன்றாவது வரிசையில் நடிகர் ரஜினி, கமல் ஆகியோரும் அமர்ந்திருந்தனர். குரூப் போட்டோவுக்காக கமல், இளையராஜா ஆகியோர் 'சேரில்' உட்கார்ந்திருந்தனர். அவர்களை அரசு அதிகாரிகள் எழுந்து நிற்கச் சொன்னார்கள்.

குரூப் போட்டோவில் ரஜினி ஏனோ இடது ஓரம் ஒதுங்கிக் கொண்டார்'. ஜால்ரா விழா அடுத்து 'ஜூனியர் விகடன்' நேற்றைய இதழின் அட்டைப்படத்திலே 'ஜால்ரா விழா ஆன சினிமா விழா - கடைசியாய் ரஜினி - கசந்த கமல் - ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட விஜய்' என்று அவர்களின் படங்களையும் வெளியிட்டு நீண்ட கட்டுரை ஒன்றையும் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. அந்தக் கட்டுரையின் சில பகுதிகள்: "சரித்திரத்தில் எழுதிக் கொண்டாடியிருக்க வேண்டிய 'சினிமா-100' விழா அ.தி.மு.க. கட்சி விழா போல நடந்து முடிந்திருக்கிறது. சினிமா விழாவுக்கு கருணாநிதிக்கு அழைப்பு இல்லை என்ற சர்ச்சைகள் அதிகமானதால், விழா தொடங்குவதற்கு சில மணிநேரத்துக்கு முன், கருணாநிதிக்கு அழைப்பிதழ் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

சினிமா விழா காரணமாக சென்னைத் திரையரங்குகளில் திரையிடப்பட்ட படங்கள் அனைத்தையும் முதல்வர்தான் தேர்வு செய்தாராம். 'பருத்தி வீரன்', 'அரவான்' போன்றவை கூட முக்கிய திரைப்படங்கள் வரிசையில் திரையிடப்பட, தமிழ் சினிமாவில் வசனப் புரட்சியை ஏற்படுத்திய 'பராசக்தி', 'மந்திரி குமாரி', 'வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபொம்மன்' உள்ளிட்ட படங்கள் எதுவுமே அந்த வரிசையில் இடம் பிடிக்கவில்லை. ஜெயா டிவி தமிழக அரசு சார்பாக 10 கோடி ரூபாய் நிதி உதவி அளித்ததை வைத்து, நிகழ்ச்சியின் ஒளிபரப்பு உரிமை அப்படியே 'ஜெயா டி.வி.'க்குப் போனது.

இதனால் மற்ற 'சேனல்'களுக்கு விழாவில் அனுமதி இல்லை. கடைசி நேரம் வரை பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும், அடையாள அட்டை வழங்கப்படவில்லை. அழைப்பிதழும், அனுமதிச் சீட்டும் இல்லாமலேயே பலரும் அரங்கில் நுழைந்தனர். "நான் யாரு தெரியும்ல? அ.தி.மு.க.காரன் கிட்டயே ஐ.டி. கார்டு கேட்குறியா?" என்று செக்யூரிட்டிகளை மிரட்டியே அ.தி.மு.க.வினர் பலரும் உள்ளே புகுந்தனர். ஜெ புகழ் பாடினர் வரவேற்புரை முதல் நன்றியுரை சொன்னவர்கள் வரை அனைவருமே ஜெயலலிதா புகழ் பாடினர். போதாக் குறைக்கு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளிலும் ஜெ. புகழ் பாடப்பட்டது. கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக தமிழ் சினிமா சுதந்திரமாகச் செயல்படுகிறது என்றும் பெருமிதப்பட்டார்.

கமலும் விஜய்யும் இதைக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுதான் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தனர். ரஜினியும் கமலும் விருது வாங்கியவர்களில் அடக்கம். விழா மேடையில் கடைசி வரிசையில் கடைசியாக அமர்ந்திருந்தார் ரஜினி. 30 பேருக்கு விருது கொடுத்த பிறகுதான் ரஜினி அழைக்கப்பட்டார். பெயர் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதும் ரஜினி வேகமாக வந்தார். விருதை வாங்கியதும் விறுவிறுவெனக் கிளம்பி விட்டார். ஜெயலலிதாவும் எந்த ரியாக்ஷனும் காட்டவில்லை. கமல் விருது வாங்க வரும் போது ஜெயலலிதா முகத்தில் சின்ன சிரிப்புக் கூட இல்லை. ரஜினியும், கமலும் பேசும்போது அரங்கத்தில் ஜெயலலிதா இல்லை. விஜய் அழைப்பே இல்லை என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட விஜய் வந்தது தான் விழாவின் ஹைலைட். அவருக்கு விருது தரப்படவில்லை. ஃபிலிம் சேம்பர் உருவாக்கியிருந்த காணொளியில் கருணாநிதியின் புகைப்படமும், பெயரும் சில நொடிகள் வந்து போனது.

விஜயகாந்த் நடித்த இரண்டு திரைப்படங்களில் சில காட்சிகளைக் காண்பித் தார்களே தவிர, அவரின் முகத்தை தப்பித் தவறியும் காட்டவில்லை. வராத பிரபலங்கள் விழாவுக்கு வந்த பிரபலங்களை விட வராத பிரபலங்களின் எண்ணிக்கைதான் அதிகமாக இருந்தது. பாலுமகேந்திரா, பாரதிராஜா, கவுண்டமணி, செந்தில், வடிவேலு, எஸ்.பி.பி., ஷங்கர், மணிரத்னம், பி. சுசீலா, எஸ். ஜானகி என தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்குப் பெரும் பங்காற்றிய பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் வரவில்லை. இவர்களில் பலர் விழாவுக்கு அழைக்கப்படவே இல்லையாம். பாலுமகேந்திரா மட்டும் மறுநாள் கலந்து கொண்டார். ஸ்ரீதேவி வந்திருந்தார், அவருக்கு விருது வழங்கப்படவில்லை. இரண்டு ஆஸ்கர் விருதுகளை வென்ற ஏ.ஆர். ரஹ்மான் பெயரும் விருதுப் பட்டியலில் இல்லை. காரணம், செம்மொழி மாநாட்டுப் பாடலுக்கு இசை அமைத்ததுதான் என்கிறார்கள். தனி விழா எடுத்திருக்கலாமே 'தனக்குப் பிடித்த சினிமாக்காரர்களை மட்டும் கௌரவிக்க வேண்டுமென்று ஜெயலலிதா நினைத்திருந்தால், அதற்குத் தனியாக ஒரு விழா நடத்தியிருக்கலாம். சினிமா 100 என்ற பொதுவான விழாவை இப்படி ஜால்ரா விழாவாக மாற்றி விட்டார்களே' என்று ஆதங்கப்படுகிறார்கள் சினிமா பிரபலங்கள்.

நான் யார்.. என்னை அழைப்பதற்கு.. இவ்வாறு ஜூ.வி. எழுதியிருப்பதோடு, 'கழுகார் பதில்கள்' பகுதியில், 'திரைத்துறை யின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவுக்கு கருணாநிதியை அழைக்காதது தவறுதானே?' என்ற கேள்விக்கு, 'நிச்சயமாக!... இந்திய சினிமா 100 வயதை எட்டி உள்ளதே.... அந்த விழாவுக்கு உங்களை அழைத்தார்களா?' என்று கருணாநிதியிடம் கேட்டபோது, 'நான் யார்? என்னை அழைப்பதற்கு?' என்று அவர் பதில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். அந்த நான்கு சொற்களுக்குள்ளும் எழுபது ஆண்டு கால சினிமா இருக்கிறது. ஐம்பெரும் காப்பியங்களில் ஒன்றான குண்டலகேசியை சிறு நாடகமாகத் தனது பள்ளிப் பருவ காலத்தில் கருணாநிதி எழுதினார். அதைத் திருச்சி வானொலி நிலையத்துக்கு அனுப்பினார். ஆனால், அதை ஒலிபரப்ப இயலாது என்று அவர்கள் திருப்பி அனுப்பிவிட்டனர். அந்த நாடகம்தான் 'மந்திரி குமாரி' சினிமா. அப்படத்தின் மூலம் தமிழகத்துக்கு எம்.ஜி.ஆர். கிடைத்தார். எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு ஒரு ஜானகி கிடைத்தார். 75 படங்கள்.. 'பராசக்தி' வசனத்தின் மூலமாகத்தான் சிவாஜியே கிடைத்தார்.

'ராஜகுமாரி'க்கு கருணாநிதி வசனம் எழுதியபோது, இந்தியாவுக்குச் சுதந்திரமே கிடைக்கவில்லை. கடைசியாய் அவர் கதை வசனம் எழுதிய படம் 'பொன்னர்-சங்கர்', இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் வெளியானது. மொத்தம் 75 படங்கள் இதுவரை கருணாநிதியின் கதை வசனத்தில் வெளிவந்துள்ளன. மந்திரிகுமாரி, பராசக்தி, பூம்புகார், பூமாலை என 21 படங்களுக்குப் பாடல்கள் எழுதியிருக்கிறார். 'காகித ஓடம் கடலலை மீது' இன்றும் இரவுப் பாடலாக ஒலித்துக் கொண்டிருக் கிறது. மேகலா பிக்சர்ஸ், அஞ்சுகம் பிக்சர்ஸ், கலை எழில் கம்பைன்ஸ், பூம்புகார் புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் ஆகிய நான்கு நிறுவனங்களை நடத்தியவர் கருணாநிதி. 29 படங்களின் தயாரிப்பாளர் 'நாம்' தொடங்கி 'பாசக் கிளிகள்' வரை சுமார் 29 படங்களைத் தயாரித்தவரும் அவரே. எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு மகுடம் சூட்டிய 'காஞ்சித் தலைவனும்' , எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆரை நிலை நிறுத்திய 'பூம்புகாரும்' இவரது தயாரிப்புகள்.

ஜெயலலிதாவை 'எங்கள் தங்கம்' ஆக்கியதும் இவரது நிறுவனமே. இப்படிப்பட்ட வரை அந்த விழாவுக்கு அழைப்பதுதானே சரி' என்று 'ஜூனியர் விகடன்' பதிலளித்திருக்கிறது. நான் சென்றிருக்கக் கூடாது - ரஜினி 'நக்கீரன்' இதழும் இதே செய்திகளைத் தான் தொகுத்து வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. அந்த இதழ் வெளியிட்டுள்ள கட்டுரையில், 'எல்லோருமே தங்களை அவமானப்படுத்திவிட்டார்கள் என்றே புழுங்குகின்றனர்' என்கிறார்கள், தமிழ்ச் சினிமாவின் பிரபலங்கள். மொத்தத்தில் "தீபாவளியின் உற்சாகத்தோடு நடந்திருக்க வேண்டிய இந்த நூற்றாண்டு விழா, ஜெயா டி.வி.யின் தீபாவளி நிகழ்ச்சி ஒளிபரப்புக்காக நடத்தப்பட்ட விழா போல் ஆகிவிட்டது' என்கிற மனக் குமுறலும் சினிமா இண்டஸ்ட்ரி முழுக்க எதிரொலிக்கின்றன' என்று 'நக்கீரனில்' எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.

விகடன் கட்டுரை 'சினிமா 100 - சிக்கல் 1000' என்ற தலைப்பில் ஆனந்தவிகடன் செய்தியாளர்கள் நீண்ட கட்டுரை எழுதியதில், குறிப்பிட்ட சில பகுதிகளை மட்டும் தெரிவிக்கின்றேன். "பல்வேறு குழப்பக் குளறுபடிகளுக்கு இடையில் அரங்கேறியது 'சினிமா 100' விழா. சினிமா ஆளுமைகளுக்குப் பெருமை சேர்ப்பதற்காக அரங்கேறிய இந்த விழா, அரை நூற்றாண்டு காலமாக தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்குப் பெருமை சேர்த்த பல சினிமா பிரபலங்களைக் காயப்படுத்தியது. 'பராசக்தி', 'மனோகரா' படங்கள் மூலம் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் தன் இருப்பை அழுத்தமாகப் பதித்திருக்கும் தமிழக முன்னாள் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதிக்கு, விழாவுக்கு முந்தைய நாள் தான் அழைப்பிதழே சேர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. வந்துடாதீங்க... அதுவும் 'தயவுசெய்து விழாவுக்கு வந்து விடாதீர்கள்' என்ற தொனியிலான மரியாதை அது. நடிகர் சங்கத் தலைவராக இருந்த விஜயகாந் துக்கோ அழைப்பே இல்லை! இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு இயக்குனர் மகேந்திரன் அழைக்கப்படவே இல்லை. இயக்குநர் எஸ்.பி. முத்துராமனுக்கும் அழைப்பு இல்லை.

விஜயகாந்த், பார்த்திபன், கார்த்திக், ராதிகா, வடிவேல் ஆகியோர் வரவேகூடாது என்பது அரசுத் தரப்பின் கடுமையான உத்தரவாம்! எம்.எஸ். விஸ்வநாதன், பஞ்சு அருணாசலம், சோ, பாரதிராஜா, கவுண்டமணி, வைரமுத்து, மணிரத்னம், ஷங்கர், ஏ.ஆர். முருகதாஸ், ஏ.ஆர். ரஹ்மான், விஜயகுமார், ஃபிலிம் நியூஸ் ஆனந்தன் போன்றவர்களுக்கு விருதும் இல்லை, நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு அழைப்பும் இல்லை. இது அம்மா நிகழ்ச்சி 'இது அம்மா நிகழ்ச்சி, ஹீரோ, ஹீரோயின்கள் கண்டிப்பா வரணும். வராதவங்க மேல கடுமையான ஆக்ஷன் இருக்கும் என ஃபிலிம் சேம்பர் நிர்வாகிகள் உத்தரவே பிறப்பித் தார்களாம்' - இவ்வாறு ஆனந்த விகடன் எழுதியிருக்கிறது. பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி பேச்சு எங்கே.. பல கோடி ரூபாய் செலவழித்து நடத்தப்பட்ட இந்த விழாவின் முக்கிய சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி அவர்கள். எந்த ஏட்டிலும் அவருடைய முழுமை யான பேச்சு வெளியிடப்பட்டதாகத் தெரிய வில்லை.

'தானும் கலந்து கொண்டேன்' என்ற அளவில்தான் அவருடைய வருகையும் எடுத்துக் கொள்ளப்பட்டதைப் போல் தெரிகிறது. முதல்வருக்கு கீழே குடியரசுத் தலைவரா? 'ப்ரோடகால்படி' சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்தை மூன்றாவது வரிசைக்கு அனுப்பியவர்கள்; இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி பற்றி 20-9-2013 அன்று வெளியிட்ட முழுப் பக்க விளம்பரத்தில் முதல் பெயராக முதலமைச்சரின் பெயர் கொட்டை எழுத்துக்களிலும், பாவம்; குடியரசுத் தலைவரின் பெயர் விளம்பரத்தில் கடைசியாகவும் வெளியிட்ட தோடு, அந்த விளம்பரத்தில் ஜெயலலிதாவின் முழு உருவப் படம்தான் வெளியிடப்பட் டிருக்கிறதே தவிர, குடியரசுத் தலைவரின் படமோ, ஆளுநரின் படமோ, மற்ற மாநில முதலமைச்சர்களின் படமோ வெளியிடப்பட வில்லை. இது 'ப்ரோடகால்படி' முறையானது தானா என்பதை குடியரசுத் தலைவரின் அலுவலகம்தான் வெளியிடவேண்டும்! சூழ்ச்சியிலே சுவரமைத்து... தமிழ்த் திரைப்படத்தின் பரிணாம வளர்ச்சியை அறிந்துள்ள யாருக்கும், அ.தி.மு.க. ஆட்சி இணைந்து நடத்திய இந்தச் சினிமா விழாவில் நிகழ்ந்த வினோதங்களைக் காணும்போது, "சூழ்ச்சியிலே சுவரமைத்து சுயநலத்தால் கோட்டைகட்டி சுடர் விட்ட நீதி தனைத் தூக்கி எறிந்து விட்டு சாட்சிகள் வேண்டாம் சகலமும் நானென்று சதிராடும் வீணர்களின் அதிகார உலகமடா!" என்று பட்டுக்கோட்டையார் புரட்சி நடிகர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். நடித்த "மகாதேவி" திரைப்படத் திற்காக 1959ஆம் ஆண்டு எழுதிய பாடல் வரிகள்தான் நினைவுக்கு வரும்! எதிர்த்து எழுதியவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் என்ன நேருமோ... இந்த விழாவிற்கு என்னை அழைக்க வில்லை என்பது பற்றி வார இதழ்கள் எல்லாம் எழுதியதோடு, அங்கே நடைபெற்ற சில சம்பவங்களையெல்லாம் எழுதியிருப்பதைப் பார்க்கும் போது அவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் என்ன நேரிடுமோ என்ற கவலைதான் எனக்கு ஏற்படுகிறது. ஆனால் அங்கே அழைக்கப்பட்ட சில பெரிய கலைஞர்கள் நடத்தப்பட்ட விதத்தை இந்த ஏடுகளின் மூலம் படிக்கும் போது, "நல்லவேளை நம்மை அழைக்காமல் விட்டார்களே; நம் "தன்மானம்" காப்பாற்றப்பட்டதே" என்றுதான் நான் எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அழைக்காமல் பலரையும், அழைத்துப் பலரையும் "பெருமைப்படுத்தி"(?) இருப்பதே இந்திய சினிமாவின் நூற்றாண்டு விழா! -இவ்வாறு எழுதியுள்ளார் கருணாநிதி.

PM tones down hopes for talks with Nawaz Sharif

Washington: Asserting that Pakistan remains the "epicentre of terror", Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said expectations have to be "toned down" over his meeting with Nawaz Sharif on Sunday.

"I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif even though the expectations have to be toned down given the terror arm which is still active in our sub-continent," Dr Singh told reporters in the Oval Office after he met US President Barack Obama.
The strong words relating to Pakistan come against the grim backdrop of the twin terror strikes near Jammu yesterday, in which 10 people were killed, and strident calls back home to call off the meeting.

Since winning an election in May, Mr Sharif has been vocal in his desire for better relations with India, but the recent flare-ups have overshadowed the prospects.

Dr Singh, on his talks with the US President, said, "We discussed the situation in the region, including Afghanistan and Pakistan. I explained to President Obama the difficulties that we face given the fact that the epicentre of terror still remains focussed in Pakistan.

Indian rupee should be at 59-60 to dollar: P Chidambaram

Asserting that the right value of rupee is 59-60 to a dollar, Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said that government will make all efforts, including extending priority sector status to export credit, to boost shipments.

"We think that based on the REER (real effective exchange rate) value, that (59-60) is the right level of the rupee and it should not overshoot its mark.

"But even at 59-60, I think it is extremely competitive to export to many markets," the Minister told a gathering of exporters lobbies led by the Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation here.

"I think the rupee has to find its level. We think the level, not only I, but a large number of people, think that the right level of the rupee is between 59 and 60. But that is not something that I am willing to pronounce on.

The rupee, which had plunged to a life-time low of 68.85 on August 28 against the dollar, today settled at 62.51, down 44 paise from the previous close.

Speaking to the exporters on their their demand for "priority sector" treatment to export credit, he said his ministry supports this view and it is talking to the Reserve Bank on the matter.

"The Ministry of Finance supports the idea that export credit should be put in the priority sector list, but it is a matter on which we are talking with the Reserve Bank," Chidamabaram told a gathering of exporters lobbies led by the Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (Fieo) here late this afternoon.

Apart from the Minister, the high-level meeting was attended by Commerce Secretary S R Rao, DGFT Anoop Pujari, and Revenue Secretary Sumit Bose, among others.

However, cautioning that there are some issues to be resolved before extending the priority sector lending (PSL) status to exporters, he said: "The fear is that if you put export credit to the priority sector, some other elements of the priority sector may get affected. We are in talks with the RBI (to resolve this)."

30 killed in Syria car bomb blast

BEIRUT: A car bomb exploded near a mosque north of the Syrian capital as worshippers emerged from Friday prayers, killing at least 30 people, activists said.

The blast, which struck outside the al-Sahel mosque in the town of Rankous, also wounded dozens of people, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

No further details were immediately available, and it was not clear whether the mosque itself was the target of the attack.

Mohammed Saeed, an activist in the eastern Damascus suburb of Douma, and the Observatory's director Rami Abdul-Rahman both said the town is neither rebel-held nor regime-held. Abdul-Rahman said the local residents have an agreement with the rebels not to bring their weapons into Rankous in order to avoid government shelling.

Saeed, who is in contact with activists in Rankous, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Damascus, said residents quickly held funerals for some of those killed in the bombing, in line with Islamic tradition that calls for a prompt burial. As people marched in one funeral procession, several rockets fired by government troops fell nearby and wounded some of the mourners.

STOCKHOLM—A much-anticipated United Nations report issued Friday reaffirmed growing belief that human activity is the dominant cause behind a rise in global temperatures, but presented a more moderate estimate on rising temperatures.

A summary of the report, the work of more than 800 scientists working for the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change over several years, said there is a 95% likelihood that humans are behind global warming, up from the 90% level reported in a similar 2007 report. The IPCC noted that air and oceans are getting warmer, ice and snow is less plentiful, and sea levels are rising.

"I wholeheartedly welcome this. I am sure it will have a long lasting impact on our polity and will be a great step in the direction of further electoral reforms that can make our democracy even more vibrant and participative," Modi said in his blog.

"Compulsory voting too, has several advantages that can make our democracy stronger. It will even mitigate fears about elections becoming display of money power," BJP's prime ministerial candidate, said.

Modi said by bringing in compulsory voting, mindless and extravagant expenditure on elections would be checked as the voters will anyway have to come to the polling booth and exercise their franchise.

The BJP leader said electoral reforms like the right to reject or compulsory voting would not violate the right to freedom of expression but "add completeness in the opportunity for expression".

"Right now, you are getting only half the right of expression- that of selecting the person or party. In future, you will get a complete right of expression- of even rejecting the candidates," Modi said.
"It is not that something is being snatched from the voters. If compulsory schooling for children is advocated, can you say that we are denying a child his or her childhood?" Modi asked.

"We introduced a bill on compulsory voting, which even included the Right to Reject but Congress Party opposed it tooth and nail. The bill was passed twice (in the state assembly), in 2008 and in 2009, but it was then withheld by the Honourable Governor (Kamla Beniwal)," Modi said.

New Delhi: With Rahul Gandhi slamming the ordinance against disqualification of convicted lawmakers, Government is expected to take back the controversial measure, Congress indicated on Friday.


Rahul ji's opinion is the opinion and the line of Congress... Now Congress party is opposed to this Ordinance," he said. The views of Congress party should always be supreme," party general secretary and communication department in-charge Ajay Maken said when asked about the fate of the ordinance in the wake of Rahul's views and whether it is likely to be withdrawn. 


The Congress clearly appeared flummoxed by Rahul's stand as Maken, at a meet-the-press programme at the Press Club here, completely backtracked from his statement praising the ordinance as "perfect", made minutes before the party Vice-President took the stage and denounced the measure calling it "complete nonsense" and "wrong" on the part of the government. 


Maken sidestepped questions on whether Gandhi's remarks meant a "rebellion" against the government or a public snub to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his government.'

"Rahul Gandhi is our leader. His views are views of the Congress party. The situation with any issue evolves with time and it has evolved and no one should have any objection to it," he merely said in reply to such questions. 


"What Rahul Gandhi said is the most important thing... that this Ordinance will not help us fight corruption. He is our leader and I think this is our official political stand. Rahul ji's opinion is the opinion and the line of of Congress...Now Congress party is opposed to this Ordinance," he said.

Before Rahul intervened during the press meet, Maken had dismissed Opposition criticism of the ordinance and downplayed the remarks of some Congress leaders including Digvijay Singh, Sandip Dikshit and Milind Deora, who opposed the measure. 


He slammed the BJP for opposing the ordinance saying that it "should not try and make it a political blame game and take advantage of both the situations", noting that the opposition party does not have moral right to change its stand after backing all proposals at an all-party meeting in August.

Maken even credited the "collective wisdom" of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for UPA's actions. 


He, however, later justified the U-turn saying "the situation with any issue evolves with time and it has evolved. Rahul has given an opinion on the issue and now it is the Congress view."

When asked whether the Prime Minister will now withdraw the ordinance that seeks to negate a Supreme Court verdict that struck down the provision in the Representation of the People Act deferring disqualification of convicted lawmakers, Maken refused to answer. 


"I do not think I have an answer to a hypothetical question," he said, adding "Rahul Gandhi has aired the views of the common man. Rahul Gandhi is our leader and he had put across his views before you without any ambiguity". 


He added that the Congress Vice President has spoken out his mind on a moral plane.

"Times have changed and people do not want to see any convicted person to be their representative. Rahul ji has aired the views of the common man. He does not want a convicted person to become a public representative...," Maken said. 


To a specific question on whether Gandhi's remarks has reinforced that there are two power centres in Congress, He said, "Rahul has taken this stand on a high moral ground. He has not spoken just any technical thing. Gandhi has expressed his views on moral and ethical ground." 


Asked whether the Congress Vice President was not consulted before the decision and whether the flip-flop points to lack of communication between Rahul and the government, Maken said, "After Rahul Gandhi's views, the party has given its opinion. Let us see what action is taken after this."

He also said that "...I am the Communication Department chief of Congress. There are others who look after the communication between Rahul Gandhi and the central government". 


Maken also said that Union Minister Manish Tewari, V Narayanasamy or he himself were earlier placing the views of the government, when asked that whether Congress should also be now criticised for opposing the Ordinance like BJP. 


"I had placed the view of Chidambaram. I also placed the view of the government. Rahul put forth the views of the party," he said.

Without mincing words, Rahul had hit out at the ordinance, saying, "It is complete nonsense, it should be torn up and thrown away. It is my personal opinion." 


Rahul said that the arguments given in "my organisation" is that "we need to do this because of political considerations. Everybody is doing this. The Congress does this, the BJP does this, the Samajwadi Party, the JD(U) does this. It is time to stop this nonsense, political parties, mine and all others...". 


Maken denied suggestions that Rahul came out with a changed response of Congress on the ordinance issue as President Pranab Mukherjee could be having reservations on the issue and his utterances today are a "political stunt". 


"I don't think so. Rahul ji is an independent person. He has his strong views...Rahul has a thinking of his own and he puts forth his views strongly. He has expressed his very own opinion strongly," Maken said. 


He also expressed annoyance at journalists for giving their opinions on the issue telling them "you can ask questions but you cannot give opinion.... You are also giving opinions while you are asking questions." 


At the outset, Maken had attacked the BJP, saying, "on August 13, when an all-party meeting took place, the exact formulation of the Ordinance was discussed and all parties agreed.

"The formulation is not something on which anyone should disagree. The principal Opposition party had agreed to the formulation of the Ordinance." 


He also said BJP has "no moral right" to raise such issues, when they have "convicted" Babu Bokhiria in the cabinet of Narendra Modi in Gujarat and reminded it of the corruption scandal involving former BJP President Bangaru Laxman. 


"I do not think, BJP has a local standi or moral authority to oppose the Ordinance as they had accepted all the formulation of Ordinance earlier."

He also downplayed played by some Congress leaders to the Ordinance saying "we are a big political party" and added that "different opinions in the party" reflect internal democracy. 


Maken had at the same time asserted that "the decision taken by the government is perfect" and that "such ordinance are not decided keeping in mind one or two persons. Senior persons from the government must have taken the decision after due consideration." 


He made the remarks while replying to question on whether the government took the ordinance route on this matter to help RJD chief Lalu Prasad, whose fate is to be decided by a Special CBI court in the fodder scam on September 30 or help some Congress leaders facing similar problems.

Maintaining that "ordinance is also a form of legislation," Maken had also assured that if the Parliamentary Standing Committee before which the bill is pending in this regard "decides something else", then a separate bill will be brought before Parliament.
