A panel set up by President Obama to review surveillance operations by the National Security Agency has recommended an end to the wholesale storing of data about Americans' phone and internet traffic.
The panel suggests that a court should be required to sanction data searches.
The review board was set up after disclosures by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.
